And what WD didn't say is that now he can chop/tinker with/modify the Savage to his heart's content! There were a couple of mods he wanted to make to which I replied "OK, but *I* won't ride it if you do that!" Which deterred him. Now that I have my own ride again, he can do whatever he likes to the Savage without thinking about whether I could/would ride it afterwards. (I REFUSE to ride "b*tch" - guess I'm a control freak - and sometimes, like now, my car breaks down and the Savage was my only transportation since our pickup gets 8 mpg on a good day and we live 30 miles from anywhere, you do the math!)

As for the differences, WD is very accurate. I liked the off-the-line power of the Savage; the Intruder has so much more of it that I can't WAIT to challenge somebody on a Buell or a crotch rocket at a red light, once I get used to the different shifter and quit missing shifts. And the top-end power is excellent as well. Another thing that's better is that, since the bike is 100 lb. or so heavier than the Savage, the big trucks don't blow me around on the highway.
Believe me, I still love the little Savage, and if the dealer had had one in as good a shape as the Intruder, I'd probably have bought it without even LOOKING at another bike.

PS: My Rebel went to a good home in Arkansas, may you have better luck with it than I did, Scott!
